My Bio

Its amazing how fast things can change in life when you find your true passion. In 2005 I moved to Ireland and this is when I purchased my first digital camera and where I developed a great love for photography. I was able to see the world in a new and creative view with my camera in hand. Over the next few years this fun hobby of taking images quickly became a passion.

Shortly after my return from Ireland I enrolled in the Rocky Mountain School of Photography in Missoula, Montana so that I could pursue further training which has since then allowed me to photograph dozens of weddings and events in a confident, technical and creative way. What has truly inspired me is seeing how I can capture a moment in time or in someone's life and make it static. Photos create wonderful memories of people and places at a specific point in time, and there is something very unique and special when looking at a memory captured in an old image that that brings you back to that place.

In addition to shooting I have been in professional camera sales for a number of years working closely with all ranges of cameras. This is where I have gained an in-depth knowledge of cameras and it has motivated me to teach people about photography, and how to make the best out of their cameras. This involves teaching the basics of photography to studio lighting to photo manipulation in seminars and private lessons. There are so many areas in the photography industry to explore that are constantly changing, from fashion and advertising, portraiture and still-life, to commercial photography and photojournalism.

Currently I am enrolled at the Alberta College of Art and Design (ACAD) working on my degree in photography with my end goal of working with my passion for photography and teaching others the art I love. Aside from education and work I am proud to volunteer with the Cerebral Palsy Association of Alberta for the past 5 years capturing memories from their events throughout Calgary.

For me photography has been much more than just taking pictures. Photography is an art, an expression, and a way of seeing life and expressing feelings.

Thanks for visiting and I look forward to working with you and helping you capture moments in your life.
